昔つきあっていた人が酔っぱらって電話をかけてきた。何年ぶりかわからないのに、びっくりするほど一方的にしゃべった。
不況で仕事が大変で彼女ともうまくいっていない、というので、適当に応答していたら、「どうしてそんなにやさしいの？」と言う。
この人は十年前より頭がずっと悪くなったんじゃないか、と呆れた。
何の責任も期待もないから、つまり関係ない人だから、適当に耳触りの良いこと言ってるだけに決まってるじゃないか。そんなこともわからなくなるんだから、老いは残酷だ。昔はもうちょっとまともな感受性を持っていたのに。
